1.What types of food should we eat for breakfast?

  • We should eat food rich in carbohydrates.
  • They help in maintaining good energy levels in the body.
  • Food items like porridge, cornflakes, dosa, and idli are rich in carbohydrates.

2.Why should we finish dinner early?

  • Sleeping immediately after dinner is not a good practice. This does not give our digestive system enough time to digest and absorb food.
  • Hence we should finish dinner early so there is enough gap between our meal time and bedtime.

3.What are the gases present in air?

A few important gases that are present in the air are:

  • Nitrogen
  • Hydrogen
  • Oxygen
  • Carbon dioxide

4.What is junk food? How is it different from healthy food?

         

  • Food with high amounts of fats and carbohydrates is called junk food.
  • Junk food constitutes more amounts of oil and artificial sugars.
  • Some examples are pizza, burgers etc. Processed items like sausages, salami, spreads, and high-fat cheese are also considered junk food.

5.Give examples of some muscle-building foods. Why are they called so?

  • Chicken, fish, soyabean, pulses etc are examples of some muscle-building foods.
  • They are called so as they are rich in proteins.
  • Proteins help in the growth and development of the body. They also add muscle mass to the body.

 

         

6. Why should drinking water be purified?

     

  • Drinking unpurified water may lead to waterborne diseases like typhoid, jaundice, diarrhoea etc.
  • Hence water should be purified before drinking.
  • This will keep us away from diseases and provide the necessary elements to the body for proper functioning.
  • RO systems are used in our homes to purify water.
