1) What Do You Understand by Churning?

• Churning is a process done using a manual or mechanised churner.
• It is used to separate the fat from a mixture.
• Butter is separated from cream or curd by this process.

2) Write the Functions of a Membrane Filter.

• Membrane filters are installed in water purifiers.
• These filters have minute pores through which water can pass, but the insoluble impurities in the water are strained and separated.
• As membrane filters collect all the impurities, they easily become dirty within a few months. So, the membranes have to be changed from time to time.
