What Is BMR?

BMR is the energy expenditure necessary to maintain the essential logical function of the body.

  • Reabsorption in the kidney

BMR is the minimum energy required by the body to maintain life at complete physical and mental rest.

BMR is calculated in a fasting state, taking 8 hours of sleep and 12 hours of fasting.

Calories express BMR values. Every day we need calories to maintain our weight.

BMR is different for males and females with age.

BMR Normal Range:

For a man of average age, the BMR should be around 1697 calories at complete rest in India.

For a woman of average age, the BMR should be around 1,410 calories for the rest of India.
